Piper PA-24 Comanche 180, 280, 260 & 40 | Piper Twin Comanche PA30 & PA39
The Comanche is a single-engine low-wing civil utility aircraft with the first all-metal and semi-monocoque construction Piper designed. It was produced from 1957 to 1972 and could accommodate four to six persons in flight.
At NW Tribe Comanche Flyers, we’re a community of aviation enthusiasts who share a deep respect and affection for the Piper PA-24 Comanche line of aircraft: its elegant lines, its engineering heritage, and the stories each airframe carries. Founded by owners who understand what it means to steward these iconic aircraft, our group exists to preserve the legacy of the Comanche — to celebrate its past, maintain its excellence today, and ensure its future in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Whether you’re an owner, restorer, pilot, or admirer, you’ll find in us a circle of kindred spirits: people who know what it’s like to marvel at that low-wing silhouette at sunrise, to tune an engine so she sings, to fly with pride knowing you’re part of a legacy. We share resources, knowledge, and passion — from tips on maintenance and restoration, to tales of memorable flights, to introductions to reliable vendors and services.
If you own a Comanche (past or present), or even just love the aircraft for what it represents, we invite you to join us. Together, we carry forward not just an aircraft type but a tradition — and we’d be honored to have you among our tribe.
